West Nile Virus Claims Another Life in the Basin

ODESSA -  The number of dead growing across the Basin as the West Nile Virus continues to spread.

Medical Center Hospital tells NewsWest 9, a patient from Ector County has died at their hospital.

On Wednesday, someone from Midland County passed away and last week a person from Andrews County died from the disease.

So far the total count of infected in the Basin is at 16.

The most reported cases are still in Andrews County with nine cases, Ector County has four cases and Midland County has three.

Texas continues to be the hardest hit state when it comes to this virus.

The most at risk are the elderly and children.

Symptoms include fever, headache, tiredness, body aches, skin rash, and swollen lymph glands.
