MIDLAND COUNTY - If you need to hop into a cab or catch a bus, you'll soon be able to do it all at one place, EZ-Rider plans to build a one-stop-shop for all your transportation needs.
It's been in the works for almost three years and now, EZ-Rider will move out of their current facility and into a new one. Alonda Massey, General Manager with EZ-Rider, says they will not be the only ones housed under this roof.
"This facility is going to be a place that we can create an environment that all modes of transportation can use that as a staging point," Massey said.
Massey says there was a need to build a facility of this type in the Basin.
"Transit and transportation companies come through here, and they are around the area going to the two cities all the time, and there is currently no staging area officially that these guys can come to," Massey said.
The new facility will not only be a hub for different modes of transportation, but it will provide an eatery for people to enjoy as they wait. Massey says she is willing to talk to anyone in regard to provide both cities as much transportation as possible.
"Anybody who would like to partner with the EZ-Rider, a private firm that's interested and working with us to see how we can all serve the community best, we are open to have those discussions," Massey said.
Once the multi-modal facility is completed, additional bus routes could be added.
"We are certainly going to look at as many ways as possible that we can make sure we are meeting the transportation needs for the people who really do use it and need it the most," Massey said.
