Man Accused of Stabbing Pecos Football Player Returns to Pecos to Face Charges

PECOS - The guy wanted for stabbing a Pecos High School football player is back in town to face charges.

Pecos Police Chief Clay McKinney tells NewsWest 9, police caught 20 year-old Lewis Martinez in Austin.

We're told he was tracked down after his arrest warrant was put into a national database.

Investigators say Martinez got into a fight with 17-year-old Jamie Melendez and stabbed him several times.

Melendez is now recovering at home after being treated in Odessa.
