MIDLAND - If you live in Midland, prepare for higher water rates again.

The increase could happen in the next few weeks.

City Council members were briefed on Tuesday at their regular meeting on the water situation.

City officials proposed another increase in rates, anywhere between two and 37 percent

The reason behind the hike is reduced water sales and the high cost of bringing water to Midland.

The rise in rates can make somewhere around $43 million dollars in revenue for the Tall City.

Earlier this year, council members voted to raise water rates to get residents to conserve.

The first reading of the proposal is in September.

If approved, the rates will go into effect in 2014.
