ECTOR COUNTY - It was a swift decision in a trial that had been delayed three times.
Before the first witness took to the stand, an Odessa teen cut a plea deal in connection with the death of a toddler.
The 14 year old plead true to manslaughter.
He'll be locked up at the juvenile detention center where he could be held until he's 19.
The teen will also have to undergo treatment for violent offenders.
It was about a year ago that Ector County deputies say the teen ran over four year old Walker Lumpkin with a 4-wheeler.
But that didn't cause his death.
The toddler was later brought into the hospital and died from head injuries.
The county attorney's office says this was the best possible outcome in the tragic case.
