MIDLAND - The Midland City Council will be making the final vote on a proposed tax rate hike for the Tall City on Monday.

On Monday, members are expected to approve a new tax rate increase of 3.05 percent.

Here's how it affects you: the average price of a Midland home this year is about $173,000.

With the current tax rate, you'd owe $778 in taxes. Under the new rates, you can expect to pay about 20 dollars more.

Of course, how much you pay is based on how much your home is worth.

The meeting is schedule for 9 a.m. Monday morning.
