New City Manager Named in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. - A new city manager will be stepping into the City of Hobbs.

J.J. Murphy was unanimously hired on Thursday.

He'll be leaving Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania and moving almost 2,000 miles to New Mexico.

Murphy will be replacing Eric Honeyfield who retired in June.

He's expected to rake in $140,000 a year.
