One Dead, One Behind Bars After Argument Between Family Members in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. - An argument between two family members ends with one dead and the other behind bars.

Hobbs Police tell NewsWest 9, they were called out to the 600 block of South Dal Paso Street just before 12:30 p.m. Friday afternoon in reference to a shooting.

When they arrived on the scene, they found 47-year-old Frankie Vine of Hobbs suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Vine was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police say the investigation revealed that Vine and his step son had been arguing and that the step son, 22-year-old Keith Haney, shot Vine.

Haney is behind bars on murder charges.

No bond has been set.
