MIDLAND - Midland now joins the growing number of West Nile cases around the Basin.
Midland Memorial Hospital says the patient is an adult from Midland County.
He was treated and released from the hospital on Wednesday.
Just to refresh your memory, four cases were in Andrews County and three in Ector County.
The latest case brings the total number to eight.
The City of Midland tells NewsWest 9, they are spraying for mosquitoes in the morning, which is something they do every summer but they will not do any additional spraying to combat the virus saying, "the chances of being struck by lightning are higher than dying from West Nile."
