ROSWELL, N.M. - One man is behind bars after being caught by Hobbs Police on Thursday night.
Roswell Police were looking for 27-year-old Jessie Chavez. He was wanted for kidnapping 28-year-old Lindsey Mendez and her son from their house in the 300 block of South Kentucky on Wednesday in Roswell.
Chavez then headed toward Hobbs but after friends couldn't be reached in Hobbs, Chavez left the nine year old in a restaurant parking lot and a family member took custody of the boy.
