MIDLAND - The smell of the water in Midland should be getting better soon.

A purification process began in July and left the water with a bleach or chlorine smell.

The final stage of the process happens on Thursday and Friday with fire hydrants and untreated water being flushed out of the system.

Residents are welcome to capture some of that water for irrigation use.

After the procedure, the smell should return to normal.
