MIDLAND - Ever wonder what to do with your unwanted, expired or un-needed prescriptions?

The Midland Coalition is placing permanent drop boxes around the city for people to drop their unwanted medication in.

There are currently two boxes, one in the lobby of the Midland County Sheriff's Office and the other at Graham's Pharmacy on Wall Street.

One of the main reasons for doing this was to ensure that medications are disposed of in the safest way.

"If it gets into our water system, gets flushed down the toilet, it gets into the ground and can gradually get into our water supply and that's what we're trying to prevent," Midland County Sheriff, Gary Painter, said.

There's no word if any more boxes will go up around the city.
