Texting and Driving Could Be to Blame for Fatal Accident That Killed Hobbs Man

Texting and driving may have caused the wreck that killed a Hobbs man on Friday.

We're told 23-year-old Rodney Rudy, Junior, was on West County Road, north of the Carlsbad Highway intersection, when he swerved into traffic hitting an 18-wheeler head on.

Rudy died on the scene.

No one else was injured.

Officials say evidence at the crash indicated Rudy was texting when he crashed.
