Three People Indicted in Connection With Double Homicide in Gaines County

GAINES COUNTY - A Gaines County grand jury has formally indicted three people charged in a double homicide case.

Desirae Mata, Juan Castillo and Bobby Ray Ruiz were all indicted on Thursday on charges of capital murder and murder for the May 10 deaths of Jon Allen and Jay Doyal.

The two men were found dead from apparent gunshot wounds in a home in Gaines County.

Mata remains in custody in Gaines County while Castillo and Ruiz remain locked up in Lea County.

Both are fighting extradition.

All three are being held on a $2 million bond each.

As for the fourth alleged suspect, Nicomedes Sosa, he is also fighting extradition back to Texas.

According to the Seminole Sentinel, he was indicted on the same charges back in June.
