ECTOR COUNTY- Cases of the West Nile virus have exploded across the U.S. and that includes North Texas, where so far Dallas county has seen 10 deaths from the virus. It looks like it's now inching closer to West Texas.
According to officials at Medical Center Hospital confirmed with Newswest 9 they have recently treated three people that have been diagnosed with the West Nile virus, however details are still limited. We don't know the ages of the patients or what part of the Basin they are from.
Wednesday the Ector County Health Department confirmed a probable case of the virus, but its not yet known if that case is related to the one over at Medical Center Hospital.
