MIDLAND - One Midland restaurant taking steps to become more energy efficient.
Gerardo's Casita Grill, along with TXU, unveiled to the public recent renovations designed to eliminate unnecessary power usage.
There's been a new roof installed which reflects light and keeps the establishment cool.
Also, a new thermostat was put in as well as a switch to led light bulbs.
Owner Jerry Morales says he usually dreads seeing his electric bill in the summer months but he's now looking forward to seeing the savings.
"It's been a win, win situation for me. With all the costs I'm saving on my bill, I'll be able to pass that on to customers by not raising menu prices," Morales said.
Morales also says he's excited to see how his customers react to the updates.
