ODESSA - Local shooting clubs are helping to host a multi-state shoot-off this weekend.

Comanche Moon Renegades and West Texas Rangers are just a pair of club names that you'll see at this weekend's Cowboy Fast Draw Association Competition.

The event is what's called a territory competition covering Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

Randy Smith, Club Owner for the West Texas Rangers, tells NewsWest 9, you'll see all ages competing in the action from kids to seniors.

But Smith says the shooting isn't the only draw to the event.

"One thing about this is that not only do we shoot the old west guns and everything, we get to dress up in the old west clothes and it's just part of the game. It gives you one weekend out of every so often that you can become somebody else," Smith said.

If you'd like to check out the high speed shooting action, the Southern Territorial Championship will start on Friday at the Ector County Coliseum's Barn "G".
