SAN ANGELO - The man accused of gunning down a Reagan County Sheriff Deputy last week is still in the hospital.
Marcus Madison is still listed at Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo but hospital officials tell NewsWest 9 they are not allowed to release his condition.
Madison shot himself in the face during a 17-hour standoff with law enforcement agencies from all around West Texas.
He's accused of killing 26-year-old Reagan County Deputy Josh Mitchell last week in Big Lake.
Madison is facing attempted capital murder charges but it's likely to be upgraded once he's released from the hospital.
