MIDLAND - Fun, water and exercise. That's what Midland firefighters had in store for kids on Thursday at their first annual kids camp.
Midland firefighters held their first annual kids camp at Grande Communications Stadium.
Kids got the chance to learn about living healthy by eating right, exercising and having fun.
Firefighters also taught kids about fire safety.
Parents, kids and even fire fighters got to play in water and have a great time thanks to community involvement.
Fire Captain Aaron Cox tells NewsWest 9, it couldn't have happened without all the help they got.
"This wouldn't be possible without the community support. We'd like to make this a yearly event. We've had a real great response. Everyone's having fun, the firemen, the kids and the parents. It's just really a great event," Cox said.
Cox says they wanted to give back to the community and show their appreciation by helping combat childhood obesity and have a fun event for parents and kids.
