ODESSA - Hundreds of Odessans looked on as firefighters combed through what was left of their church after it burned down on Wednesday night.
Just after 9 p.m., the back of the Saint James Baptist Church on Hancock Avenue caught fire and soon the whole building was engulfed.
It took firefighters seven hours to finally put the fire out.
The church is a total loss with more than tens of thousands of dollars of damage.
Right now, investigators believe the cause is electrical.
