ODESSA - The Ector County School District is in desperate need of bus drivers.
Right now, there are 20 open spots and district officials say they need to get those filled before the school year starts.
NewsWest 9 spoke with Director of ECISD Transportation and he says the oilfield has created a hardship when it comes to hiring.
"The oilfield pays well and we've lost some drivers to the oilfield. I'm sure some applicants haven't come our way because they found jobs at other places," David Morris, ECISD Director of Transportation, said.
The part-time job starts at over 11 bucks an hour and comes complete with benefits.
