A Hobbs man that crashed his vehicle in a high speed chase is facing murder charges after his passenger died in that wreck.
According to the Hobbs News Sun, Eloy Lopez is being charged with vehicular manslaughter along with other charges.
Earlier this month, officers tried to pull Lopez over and that's when he led them on a chase.
Lopez lost control of his car and crashed into a building.
His passenger, 30-year-old Debra Gonzalez died.
The paper says Lopez is still hospitalized and an arrest warrant will be issued.
On top of those charges, Lopez is wanted in Yoakum County for violating parole from an attempted murder conviction.
