Public Meeting Being Held Over Possible Property Tax Increase in Midland

MIDLAND - If you live in Midland, now's your chance to put your two cents in on a possible property tax increase.

The city is looking at increasing the tax rate by a little more than three percent.

The average price of a home is a little more than $173,000.

If the city keeps this year's tax rate, the average home will pay $778.

Under the proposed tax increase, they will go up to $802.

Two public hearings are scheduled.

The first meeting will be held on August 7 at 9 a.m. and the second meeting will be held on August 14 at 6 p.m.

Both meetings will be held at Midland City Hall.
