Person of Interest Wanted in Connection With Weekend Murder Caught in Roswell, N.M.

On the evening of July 19, 2012, at approximately 2100 hours, investigators with the Odessa Crimes Against Persons Unit was notified by the Chavez County Sheriff's Office (Roswell, New Mexico) that Marcus Kristopher "Arkansas" Lacy was in custody.

Based on information obtained during their investigation and from investigators with the Chavez County Sheriff's Office, an arrest warrant was obtained charging Lacy with murder, felony 1st degree.

Lacy is being held at the Chavez County Sheriff's Office awaiting extradition.


Lacy was wanted for questioning in connection with the death of 62-year-old Charles Jennings on Saturday in the 1400 block of East 4th Street.

Odessa Police tell NewsWest 9, Lacy was initially arrested for public intoxication. He was questioned about the incident and later was determined to be a person of interest.
