MIDLAND - More information on a story NewsWest 9 first reported on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, NewsWest 9 spoke to a Midland apartment complex that was busted for letting their trash problem get out of hand.

The Waterford Ranch Apartments told NewsWest 9, they had repeatedly called Duncan Disposal Services to pick up the trash and they never did.

The trashy problem also caught the City of Midland's attention.

The city says they'll be monitoring the trash collection site at the apartment complex but if things don't improve, they'll have to step in.

"If there's a situation like that the City of Midland could, in fact, take over the trash service to ensure that it won't happen again. But I feel confident in working and speaking with both parties that we won't have a communication break down like we had this time," Morris Williams, Jr., Director of Solid Waste for the City of Midland, said.

The apartment complex also said they signed a new contract with Duncan so that their trash will be automatically picked up without having to call.
