MIDLAND - Three Hispanic oil field workers, two from Mexico, have settled with an oil company after they claim they were forced to work in a hostile environment.
Blue Ridge Resources, a Midland oil company, settled the suit in the middle of the trial.
The lawsuit was filed by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
They claim their supervisor, who is also Hispanic, would often call them wetbacks and dirty Mexicans.
They also said he denied them water saying wetbacks don't need water.
The EEOC says the top management never spoke to the workers about their supervisor's behavior, even after they were told about it.
The three men will be paid $43,000 in damages for mistreatment.
