Vehicle Bursts Into Flames During Accident, Seven People Transported

ODESSA – Seven people have been transported to the hospital after an accident in Odessa.

The accident happened on Thursday evening on South Highway 385 and Sheppard.

NewsWest 9 is still gathering information but we've learned that three vehicles were involved in the accident.

We're told two trucks crashed into each other and a white pick-up was hit by an 18 wheeler and burst into flames.

Seven people total were transported to Medical Center Hospital.

Four of the seven are in critical condition and their ages range from 18 months to 13 years old.

Nine-year-old Jaime Bustamante and 31-year-old Maria Melendez are in fair condition. We are working to get the conditions of the others injured in the accident.

The two people in the 18 wheeler were OK.

Officials are still investigating the accident.
