MIDLAND - The City of Midland is getting ready to flush out their water system.

On Monday, the city will begin a cleaning process to control biofilm in our water system.

Biofilm is a naturally occurring organic matter in our water distribution system.

If left untreated, it can cause the water to have a bad taste or smell.

During this cleaning process, you may experience a slight chlorine odor but the water is perfectly safe to use and drink.

The whole process will take about a month.
