HIGHLAND PARK - A horrific scene in a prestigious Dallas neighborhood. A Midland business owner tries to stab his wife before turning the knife on himself.
According to WFAA in Dallas, 50-year-old John Rodman Steele attacked his sleeping wife with a knife.
As she fought to defend herself, police say the son walked in and tried to defend his mother.
Steele reportedly ran downstairs as his son called 911and then tried to help his mother.
When his son ran after him, he saw Steele stab himself.
Steele died on the way to the hospital.
His wife is in stable condition.
John Steele owned the BMW car dealership in Midland and an oil exploration company.
