ODESSA - Pawn shop owners in Odessa will now have to snap a photo of goods brought into their stores.
Under changes made to an ordinance on Tuesday night, pawn shops and second hand goods dealers will have to take a picture of every item they receive.
It's all to help police track down stolen items.
Pawn shop owners argue that could hurt business by turning off potential sellers.
"My customers, who are 75% repeat customers, they don't want their photos being used in this way," Rhonda O'Neal, Owner of Big Tex Pawn Shop, said.
Pawn shops legally have to report items that they buy or items used for loans at their store.
