A few West Texas counties are taking another step toward forming a groundwater conservation district.

On Monday, both the Ward and Winkler County Commissioners approved the first of three resolution readings to form a groundwater conservation district with each other and with Crane County.

Crane County voted on the resolution on Tuesday but we have not received word on their decision at this time.

If all three pass, the counties will take their decision to the state legislature to be voted on next spring.
