NEAR BIG SPRING - Several explosions could be heard near Big Spring early Saturday morning after an 18-wheeler caught fire.

The 18-wheeler was hauling a trailer full of cars, near the moss lake road exit on Interstate 20 when the brakes failed.

Howard County Volunteer Fire Chief Tommy Sullivan tells NewsWest 9, the brake failure sparked the fire which spread to four other vehicles that were being hauled.

No one was injured but there were several explosions from overheated tires and gas tanks.
