MIDLAND - North midland may soon have a new shopping center.

Midland City Council unanimously agreed to the addition of a 15-building complex, but the decision didn't come without a debate.

Council Members were worried about the influx of traffic the center may bring that led to some wanting to require a traffic study of the area.

It was decided that DK Boyd, the land owner, would pay for the study. Once the study is completed construction on the complex will begin.

The complex will be about 192,000 square feet and allow business owners to purchase and customize their space.
