Hobbs Mother Sentenced for Causing Her Baby’s Death

HOBBS, N.M. - A Hobbs mother accused of causing her baby's death will be spending a lot of time behind bars.

36-year-old Adriana Cabezuela was convicted in 2007 for the death of her eight month old daughter.

On Monday, she was sentenced to 25 years behind bars.

Cabezuela and her boyfriend called 911 saying the child was not breathing but hospital staff found the child's body covered in bruises and bite marks.

The baby died from a blow to the head.

Cabezuela has been in prison since June of 2007.
