Man Arrested After Standoff in Andrews

ANDREWS - Some homeowners in Andrews had a late Friday night when SWAT teams were called to their neighborhood.

According to reports, 24-year-old Eric Figgs locked himself in a home in the 800 block of Northeast First Street around 10:30 p.m. Friday night.

Police got a call from the homeowners, saying Figgs was drunk and damaging a mobile home.

When officers arrived, they spent 20 minutes trying to get him out of the house.

Figgs locked the door and continued to destroy the place.

That's when the SWAT team was called in.

They negotiated with Figgs for almost half an hour before they decided to go in.

They used a flash bang to subdue him.

Officials cuffed him and got him out of the house.

He was taken to jail and charged with felony criminal mischief.
