BREWSTER COUNTY - The numbers are back in for a recount in the County Commissioner race in Brewster County.

You'll remember one of the candidates for Precinct 3 Commissioner, Marcos Paredes, wanted a recount after a very tight race that ended his chances for a run-off.

In the original results, Incumbent Ruben Ortega got 211 votes and Vega got 125 votes, that's just seven votes more than Paredes who had 118 votes on his side.

The new numbers didn't change by much.

Ortega actually had 210 votes and the recount brought Paredes even closer with 121 votes, just four away from tying with Vega.

However it still wasn't enough to give him the edge he needed.

Ortega and Vega will fight for the commissioner seat in a run-off election.
