West Texas is showing up in Hollywood as a Monahans girl tries out for American Idol.

High Schooler Samantha Santillan and she's on her way to Hollywood.

We're told the Monahans girl tried out in Florida on a band trip and moved on.

She recently aced the next round of tryouts in San Antonio and is now going on to Hollywood for tryouts there.

We'll of course keep you updated on her progress.
