MIDLAND - 17 and a half years behind bars was the sentence handed down on Wednesday morning to Bobby Ray Childress of Lubbock.

In March of 2012, Childress plead guilty to one count of production of child pornography.

According to court documents, back in August of 2011, the Lubbock Police Departments Vice Unit was conducting a investigation into a local prostitution ring.

That's when a video of Childress and a minor engaging in sexual acts at a hotel room was discovered.

Detectives were able to match characteristics of the room to that of a hotel in Odessa.

Once out of prison, Childress will also have 23 years of supervised release.
