MIDLAND - Midland ISD students faired rather well in standardized testing this year.
10th and 11th graders who took the TAKS test showed growth in three of the four areas tested from a year ago.
10th graders taking the science portion showed the largest growth with 87 percent passing compared 65 percent from last year.
English was the only subject that showed a regression from 2011.
Meanwhile, grades 7 through 9 took the brand new STAAR exam.
Over 99 percent of the 7th and 8th graders taking the algebra one exam passed.
8th graders had to take the geometry portion and they boasted a 100 percent passing rate.
77 percent of 9th graders who took the reading portion passed and 63 percent of those same 9th graders passed the writing portion.
