NEW MEXICO - Two New Mexico men were caught red handed stealing copper wire from a pump jack site.
Jesus Arenivas and Paul Litty, Junior, face several charges including larceny.
Early Monday morning, lea county deputies approached a truck parked next to a pump jack.
The truck sped away beginning a high speed chase.
We're told it came to an end when they drove through a fence, jumped out and fled on foot.
Both were caught and arrested.
Deputies discovered stolen copper wire in their truck worth $1,500.
But the damage they did by trying to get the copper will cost over $3,000.
