Solid Waste Truck Knocks Out Power in Midland

Midland students and neighbors were left sweltering in the heat after their power was knocked out on Friday. The electricity was knocked out after a city recycle truck ran into some low hanging power lines off of Cuthbert Street around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

MIDLAND - Midland students and neighbors were left sweltering in the heat after their power was knocked out on Friday.

The electricity was knocked out after a city recycle truck ran into some low hanging power lines off of Cuthbert Street around 2 p.m. Friday afternoon.

The accident took down four power lines and several utility poles.

Up to 500 customers lost electricity, along with a daycare center and Alamo Junior High.
