MIDLAND/ODESSA - City elections are behind us but now a whole new round of elections are here.

Early voting for the primary elections is underway.

Several important races will be on the ballot including the race for U.S. President, State Senators, County Races and several more.

Here's a look at the big issues locally.

In Ector County, voters will decide whether they want to keep Cindy Weir-Nutter as County Attorney or if they'd like to see Scott Layh in that spot instead. Also, Joe Commander will be going up against current Sheriff Mark Donaldson for his job.

In Midland County, four candidates are fighting to fill the 238th District Court Seat. That position was left open after the passing of Judge John Hyde.

Early voting ends next Friday, May 25.

The primary elections will be held Tuesday, May 29.
