Man in Good Condition Following Standoff in Odessa

ODESSA - A possible suicide attempt turned into a three hour showdown on Tuesday night in Odessa.

On Tuesday night, several units were called out to a home on Orlando Drive for a possible suicide attempt.

When officials got to the scene, they saw 28-year-old Leo Cooper holding a gas can and breaking out windows at his home.

When cooper saw officers he went into his home and barricaded himself.

The SWAT team, bomb unit, Texas Rangers and several other agencies were all called to the scene.     

Nearby homes were even evacuated as a precaution.

The standoff finally came to an end around 9:50 p.m. when swat entered the home and got Cooper out.

He was taken to Medical Center Hospital for a medical and mental evaluation where he's now in good condition.
