MIDLAND - There was quite a commotion on Monday on Midland's west side. A homeowner caught two trespassers and held them at gunpoint.
Midland Police were dispatched just after 11:00 a.m. to the 400 Block of West Cuthbert in reference to a burglary in progress.
When officers arrived, they found two homeless people being held at gunpoint by the homeowner. Police have identified the two as Rosanna Almaguer and Richard Catlin.
According to reports, the duo had been staying at a vacant home.
Several units were called to the scene since the homeowner told dispatchers he was holding them at gunpoint till authorities got there.
"They were with their guns drawn. They walked behind the fence over there, and then about a couple of minutes later, I see them pull out a young lady with a purse. Just a bunch of commotion going on over there," Witness, Rick Beltran said.
Both Almaguer and Catlin have been charged with criminal trespassing.
