College is about to get a lot more expensive for Texas students.
Texas A&M and University of Texas School Systems will be hiking their tuition rates next fall.
The University of Texas System is considering increasing rates at all nine of their campuses over the next two years and that includes U.T.P.B.
The main Texas campus in Austin would see bumps up to 3.6 percent each year for undergraduate students.
The other eight campuses in the Texas System would see tuition increases ranging from 2.5 percent to 3.8 percent each year.
Officials have said the money will be used to pay for better academic advising and expand classes and programs designed to help more students graduate in four years.
Governing boards are scheduled to vote on the tuition increase this week.
