ODESSA - There were a number of people in Odessa walking for a good cause on Saturday morning.
Over 1,000 people went to Mission Fitness to Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
The event kicked off bright and early but that didn't stop the cause.
According to their Facebook page, the event so far has raised $63,000.
Saturday's walk was just one of several being held across the country in the coming weeks to raise awareness and get funding to find a cure.
It's estimated one in every 88 kids are identified on the autism spectrum.
Also in Odessa, a walk for a different cause, multiple sclerosis.
The walk was presented by HEB and dozens of people made their way to Memorial Gardens Park in Odessa to bring awareness to this disease as well.
