Big Bend Road Race Begins in Sanderson

Get ready to start your engines. The most difficult road race in the world is coming to West Texas.

The event began on Thursday in Sanderson with racers in rookie school, taking practice runs and qualifying and then the real fun begins on Friday and Saturday in Fort Stockton.

The weekend will start off with a car show and then end with speed induced races.

Some races will have cars topping 180 miles per hour.

The race course is 118 miles and will have drivers winding down roads with elevation changes.
