MIDLAND - Midland ISD officials are tackling next year's budget and staffing issues.
During a special meeting on Tuesday night, school board members talked about increasing their staff's pay.
They're looking to give employees a pay increase to make a dent on their cost of living expenses.
They also addressed how funds will be handled, once state funding comes down but their main issue was addressing a staffing shortage.
Doctor Ryder Warren says population is booming and that means they need more employees from custodial to teachers.
The student numbers in each classroom are growing quickly and they're trying to keep up.
The board also got updates about academic programs and balancing the budget by the end of the school year.
