JEFF DAVIS COUNTY - Two fires are burning in Jeff Davis County.

One of them is located in the Brooks Mountain area near the Livermore Ranch. It sparked up around 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon. That fire is estimated at 2700 acres. The Texas Forest Service, Fort Davis Fire, Valentine Volunteer Firefighters, and the Davis Mountain Resort Volunteers are battling the blaze right now.

The second fire is located at Spring Mountain. It sparked up Sunday. Firefighters are currently monitoring it. They haven't been able to gain access to the fire due to the rugged terrain. It's estimated at 3600 acres.

Both fires are burning in remote areas and there is no danger to any structures at this time.

The Texas Forest Service is also using air tankers to fight the flames.
