MIDLAND - Hundreds of people hit the pavement Saturday morning for the annual "Run From The Cops Race" in Midland.

Adults and kids chose to run either a 1K, 5K or a 10K as a way to raise money for the Rape Crisis and Child Advocacy Center.

McGruff, the Crime Dog, was also there to support runners.

About 600 people were expected to run on Saturday and many of them were police officers.

The Police Department says the run is also a way to get the community interested in health and fitness.
